Opening Remarks and Welcome

1. Suzanne opened the meeting and thanked everyone for attending.

Approval of Previous Minutes

2. The Committee approved the minutes of the previous meeting held on Tuesday 17 October.

New Christmas Tree

3. Suzanne informed the Committee that she had purchased a new Christmas Tree for the Reception area.  David D asked that the tree be put up and decorated as soon as possible.  Steffi had agreed to organise this.

Christmas Productions

4. It was mentioned that the infants would need help in preparing for the production.  Peter agreed to organise.  Key Stage 2 support has already been arranged by Dawn.  Performances would start at 6.00pm and children would need to be collected by 7.30pm.

5. It was also agreed that the FPTA would provide refreshments in the Reception Area for both the Infant and Junior Productions.   Mulled wine and mince pies would be available at a cost of 3YTL.  Tea and coffee would be made available for the Nursery Production.  David D said that the library would remain open for parents who were not attending the production to wait.

Treasurer's Report

6. David L gave a summary of the Accounts.  The FPTA has started the year with 447YTL in the account and the total now stood at 2,400YTL.  David L reminded the Committee that we still owed the school £750 in order to finish paying for the work carried out constructing the climbing frame and making good the area surrounding it.  It was decided that we would try to pay this amount off during this year and that we would discuss this again after the Christmas break.  David L said that we also needed to pay for the children’s Christmas presents.  Each child will receive a dairy/notebook with their name on it at a cost of 3.5YTL per item.

Christmas Party

7. Suzanne mentioned that she would again ask Rafi Husain to be Father Christmas for the party, which would begin at 9.00am on 15 December.  We would also need to allocate a time for wrapping the presents.

Bingo

8. It was agreed that the FPTA would hold another Bingo afternoon on Sunday 14 January from 2.30pm onward.  The format would be the same as the last event with toys/prizes for the children and money prizes for the adults.  Volunteers would be needed for this event.

Emergency Calling Tree

9. Suzanne said that all calling trees had now been received from Class Reps.  It was mentioned that the texting system works extremely well.  Suzanne said that it should now be possible to hand over the responsibility for the calling trees back to the school.  David D agreed.  However, it was also agreed that the FPTA would still continue to activate the calling tree when necessary for a few months.

School Journal

10. Bobbi Nelson mentioned that she is considering holding an Art Show in order to raise funds for the Journal.  The objective for this year would be to raise 2,000YTL.

Wish List

11. Although it is currently unclear how much money would be available Suzanne asked if the teachers would prepare a wish list of items they would like the FPTA to purchase should there be any funds available later in the year.  A sum of 2,000YTL was the target agreed on, if possible.

Any Other Business

12. Dilek mentioned that there would be a lunch party for the children on the last day of school. Parents would be asked to send in a dish of food and this would be displayed on a buffet table for all the children to enjoy.

Date of Next Meeting

13. Next meeting will be held on 15th January at 7.00pm in the school hall.

14. Meeting closed at 8.10pm.
