I wish you all a super summer and thank everyone for making my first year as Head Teacher so special. Thank you all and see you in September.

GOODBYE

Good luck to everyone who is moving to another school this summer. Please stay in touch with us and visit if you get the chance in the future!

AMBASSADORS' GROUP

I would like to hear from any parents who will be in Ankara with their children at the time of the New Parents' Welcome on the 28th August. Our Ambassadors' Group plan activities for new children and would like to involve any BESG students as buddies to newcomers. If you can help us with this please email me at dakyurek@besg.org

TALENT SHOW

The Talent Show this year was as entertaining as ever. Thank you for supporting your children and encouraging them to share their special gifts with us. We have plans to make next year’s event open to all parents.

LOST PROPERTY

We are looking for: a rectangular plastic lock and seal box that was sent in for Teachers appreciation lunch, on Tuesday School Go-Kart taken from school premises.

SPORTS DAY

All children have been learning about the Olympics this week and Wednesday morning saw Foundation and Key Stage 1 bouncing up to the Embassy lower lawn for the start of the BESG 2008 Olympics.

Children were competing in five events: a throw, sprint, jump, feather between the toes and balance challenge. The children were eager to have a go at everything and watching them practice their sporting skills was delightful to see. The morning finished with eating the yummy ice pops!

Key Stage 2 could be heard before they were seen, with rousing chants to celebrate the country that they represented. There were some amazing throws, jumps and ball catches going on. The end of the morning saw class relay races and of course the parents race, a majority of whom had to be dragged away from the long jump mat where there seemed to have evolved a parents competition! Watching children and parents devise strategies to keep the ball from dropping was great fun.

A big cheer to the BESG!

NURSERY TEACHER

I am pleased to announce the new Nursery Teacher will be Mrs. Erin Melink. We congratulate her on appointment and wish her good luck next year!
