DEAR PARENTS

This week we thought about leaving and discussed the many ways we could all keep in contact. The children came up with many creative ideas. If you are leaving BESG this year please visit the parents' section of our website for information about transition.

BESG V METU

A huge well done to the year 3 and 4 football team for the fantastic score of 6-4! The game against METU was at home this time with lots of supporters present. The children spent a fast paced 30 mins trying to score as many goals as possible! I saw some excellent manoeuvres and passes, they were really working as a team. Lets look forward to some exciting matches next year!

STAFFING INFORMATION FOR NEXT YEAR

I am happy to share with you some information about your child’s teacher next year.

Nursery To be announced
Reception Mrs. Atacocugu
Year 1 Ms. Vincent
Year 2 Mr. Stuart Downing (Coming from the International School of Strasbourg)
Year 3 Ms. Lindsay
Year 4 Ms. Gibson
Year 5 Ms. McLean
Year 6 Mr. Robert Pateman (Previously at the Kuwait English School)

SUNHATS

As the weather is now heating up please send your child to school with their BESG hat and sun cream ready applied. Hats are available from Libas if you don’t already have one. Children will not be allowed to play in the sun at lunchtime without a hat.

PORTFOLIOS

All children maintain a portfolio of their work during their time at the BESG. Children from Year3-6 are preparing for their presentations to parents in the next few weeks. At this time parents are invited by their children to participate in a conference led by their child with a focus on their achievements and learning in the past year. Please attend the evening parent’s meeting to find out more.

PASS CARDS

We will soon be preparing the BESG pass cards for next school year and so ask you to provide us with your photos as soon as possible.

SAD NEWS

I am very sorry to tell you that Mrs. Jane Ergen, our Nursery Teacher has returned to the UK because of family illness. Mrs. Ergen will not be returning to Turkey. I'm sure you will all join me in wishing her and her family all of our support at this difficult time.

GOODBYE

This year BESG will say goodbye to Mr. Sumner Yr 6 teacher, who is moving to New Zealand and Ms. Barnett Reception teacher, who is returning to the UK. They are both exceptional teachers and will be missed by all of the staff, parents and children. Good luck!
