FPTA SUMMER FAIR

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the Summer Fair successful. Thank you to Mrs. Lale Özkan and Mark Brunner and the FPTA committee.

INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

On Saturday children from Year5 and Year6 attended the International Football Tournament. We were certainly the youngest team and also the shortest in height but our children showed amazing determination, team work and motivation in all five matches that they played. It took a lot of courage to go on to a football field with children who were twice your height! Although we didn't win any of our games we drew with the Iranian school (who actually beat the winning team) which showed the level of skill that our children already have. The children involved smiled and laughed and showed us what taking part is all about. We all attended a wonderful function at the German Embassy where the children received well deserved goodie bags and their trophy. We were also given a special award as the tournament organisers were so impressed and the team are being taken to an opening professional football match in September. Well done to all those involved we are so proud of you!

SUNHATS

As the weather is now heating up please send your child to school with their BESG hat and sun cream ready applied. Hats are available from Libas if you don’t already have one. Children will not be allowed to play in the sun at lunchtime without a hat.

PORTFOLIOS

All children maintain a portfolio of their work during their time at the BESG. Children from Year3-6 are preparing for their presentations to parents in the next few weeks. At this time parents are invited by their children to participate in a conference led by their child with a focus on their achievements and learning in the past year. Please attend the evening meeting for parents to find out more.

We are very happy to share the achievement of Victoria Corrigan Year4 for becoming Ankara Tennis Club champion for the second year.

PASS CARDS

We will soon be preparing the BESG pass cards for next school year and so ask you to provide us with your photos as soon as possible.

CANINE GANG KEY RING SALE

At lunch time next Friday 13^th June Miss Vincent will be selling the Canine Gang Key Rings. These will cost 7ytl each and profits will go to support Gölbaşı Dogs Shelter. Please read Miss. Vincent’s report below.
