The British Embassy Study Group>
         Introduction from the Head Teacher

We are pleased to welcome you to the British Embassy Study Group web pages and we hope they will provide you with useful information but please do not hesitate to contact us if you have a question.

BESG is a co-educational primary school with 135 children aged between 3 and 11, representing nearly 26 countries.  We are known as a friendly and caring British school, which values a holistic approach to education.

BESG is located in a unique environment. Its own woodlands provide an exciting and creative place for children to explore and play. Our school is a friendly and dynamic community where children are enthusiastically engaged in the learning process by creative, caring and skilled teachers.

BESG allows every child to be known as an individual, and values each child for what they can achieve academically, physically, socially and emotionally. At the centre of the School’s philosophy is the desire to understand the needs of each individual child. While we have high academic and behavioural expectations, we believe every child can succeed; class sizes and talented teachers at BESG encourage the children to grow and develop to their full potential.

The selection of the right school for your children is one of the most important decisions you must make. It is with great pleasure, therefore, that I invite you to browse through our website, but better still, to come to see us in person so that you can feel for yourselves the ethos of our school. We are very proud of our School and would enjoy sharing the British Embassy Study Group experience with you.

MISSION STATEMENT
BESG: VALUING INDIVIDUALS

We encourage everyone to become responsible, happy, confident, life-long learners in a secure, welcoming and unique environment; where cultures meet and diversity is celebrated.

THE AIMS OF THE BESG

We provide a broad and stimulating educational environment which encourages each child to fulfil their potential and become life-long learners.

We value each child for what they can achieve academically, psychically, socially and emotionally.

We encourage independence, responsibility and consideration for others.

We provide a stable, sensitive and welcoming atmosphere in which our children feel happy and secure.

We offer a quality education based on the English National Curriculum, which also recognises our cultural diversity.

We utilise Turkey's distinctive geography and rich history as a resource for learning.

The BESG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all staff and volunteers share this commitment.
