Healthy Lunches

The school year is almost over, yet it is always a good idea to remind ourselves and our children to keep up and promote healthy eating habits at home and during the Summer vacations.

We would like to remind you all that we still have children with Nut Allergies. So please support us in not sending foods containing nuts for class parties etc.

We will also ask for your support for NOT sending cakes, cookies, biscuits, chocolate/etc. for your child’s lunch. A number of children have recently been bringing these, and sometimes in quite large amounts. Please do remember that this means your children are filling themselves up with empty calories, because these items are usually the first to be eaten and they will not be hungry to eat the more nutritious food in their boxes. This fact, also affects the children who are bringing nutritious items, because children tend to copy and reciprocate behavioural patterns that they encounter in their daily lives, they are going to press their parents to add cakes & sweets for them too and it could become a not so healthful trend in their lunch boxes.
