First Aid Training

Last term a number of parents asked me to run a first aid training session. As the date offered was not convenient to some parents, I am offering another date of Friday 22nd June from 9.30 until 11.30 in the school hall Please contact me by next Tuesday if you would like to attend so that I can confirm that it will go ahead.

Sun Safety

Did you know?

  • that much of your child’s sun exposure can occur before they finish high school
  • that any change in the skin’s natural colour after time outside indicates damage from the sun’s UV rays?
  • that all people, regardless of skin or eye colour are equally at risk of eye damage from the sun’s UV rays?

We are teaching these important sun smart messages at school :

Spend time in the shade between 11 and 3,
Make sure you never burn,
Aim to cover up with a t-shirt, hat and sunglasses,
Remember to take extra care with children,
Then use factor 15+ sunscreen,

Please remind you children to follow these steps and please remember that your children learn from the behaviour you model.

If pupils cannot find their school baseball caps, we are happy in the interests of sun safety to allow them to wear any sun safe hat for the rest of this term. However, in the new school year we will require all pupils to wear our new sun safer style hat. This is available from LIBAS for 11YTL and will also be sold by LIBAS at the summer fair.

Yours sincerely
